NEW MASTER BLACK BELT CERTIFICATION CONCEPT; DELIVERS KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE TO DRIVE SUCCESSFUL IMPROVEMENT INITIATIVES

June 17, 2005

PRINCETON, NJ, — Six Sigma Qualtec, a worldwide leader in performance improvement consulting, training and technology solutions, today announced a new program for achieving its advanced Master Black Belt certification.

Unlike other Master Black Belt certification courses, Six Sigma Qualtec works to ensure that its graduates are keenly focused on delivering tangible business results for the organization. The newly-revised offering is designed to meet the evolving needs of today’s businesses, which place a higher emphasis on meeting specific objectives, achieving dramatic improvements in performance, and producing a demonstrable and successful return on their investment.

"Traditionally, Master Black Belts have been charged with completing or assisting on larger, more difficult projects and with training people within their organizations," said Pete Robustelli, Six Sigma Qualtec’s Managing Director. "That definition of the role is no longer sufficient in today’s business climate. In addition, our approach enables Master Black Belts to ensure project completion, to acquire advanced tools and capabilities directly related to their daily responsibilities, and to transfer knowledge more effectively through superior mentoring skills."

Six Sigma Qualtec’s Master Black Belt training also pays immediate dividends to companies whose employees sign up for the course; the candidates are required to complete a "Super Project" within their firm, an initiative that narrows performance gaps and improves metrics on key business processes. Super Projects routinely generate at least $1 million in financial impact, addressing chronic challenges that cut across departmental or divisional boundaries within the company.

An additional benefit is flexibility, giving companies the ability to build out programs that meet their business needs. They can certify their performance improvement efforts to both their customized and Six Sigma Qualtec’s standards. Companies can select from six advanced topics, or offer their own course as a substitute. MBB Candidates can obtain an optional teaching certificate, in case they are expected to train the six sigma curriculum to others.

"By teaching the leadership skills that combine project management, technical analysis and mentoring, Six Sigma Qualtec is producing Master Black Belts who can make an immediate and positive impact on their organizations," Robustelli said. "Six Sigma Qualtec-trained Master Black Belts know how to effectively communicate, teach problem-solving to others, and work to ensure the success of your Six Sigma initiative."
