Strikingly, nearly half of all respondents indicated dissatisfaction with in-house developed solutions and competing third party legacy systems such as ProjX and Instantis. While the vast majority of respondents currently use "home-grown" programs, the respondents’ dissatisfaction with these solutions, as well as with the niche providers, was widespread. These technology solutions simply do not meet the evolving needs of the performance improvement community.
Respondents indicated the need for a web-based program that is easy to use and provides improved reporting capabilities. Ideally their technology solution would help them to manage and allocate resources while leveraging institutional knowledge. Respondents also want the ability to integrate their solution into existing management information systems, including financial performance reporting.
