Lean For Manufacturing

This program teaches the fundamental tools of Lean as applied to a manufacturing environment.  The program is delivered in a 5-day workshop setting, or Kaizen event, and applies the tools in real time to real projects that deliver bottom line results.

 

Duration: 5 day Workshop / Kaizen Event

 

Upon completion of this course, the participants will be able to:

  • Recognize and prioritize opportunities for Lean

  • Assess the impact of increased order to fulfillment VELOCITY on the responsiveness and profitability of their business.

  • Have the tools to accomplish this.

  • Initiate basic Lean improvements in their operation in the areas of:

    • Work place organization (5 S)

    • Visible operations and control (no hidden activity or cost)

    • Eliminate waste that increases cycle times / lead times

    • Map your value stream from customer to customer to target and assess improvement activities in terms of flow velocity and constraints to flow.

    • Optimize operational flexibility to meet customer demand through faster product changeover practices.

  • Develop the knowledge to assess the value of Lean CONTROL methods for their operation:

    • The concept and value of Continuous Flow for flexibility and customer satisfaction.

    • The concept and value of Just-In-Time for flexibility and customer satisfaction.

    • The concept of Kanban for controlling work in process and operational activity.

    • Recognition of the issues in supply chain management
