Lean Champion and Project Selection

SSQ's Lean Champion and Project Selection workshop session is aimed at providing managers with the knowledge and skills to develop meaningful project assignments for upcoming Lean Events and the deployment of future Lean projects throughout the organization.

Duration: 2-3 days

Outcomes of the workshop include:

• Participants understand how tools are used and are better able to support Lean projects and teams.

• The Lean projects brought into the workshop will be largely complete with respect to defining the respective processes’ current state.

• Value Streams will be defined for the Lean projects.  These Value Streams will also be used to identify other potential Lean projects.

  • Note:  The Lean projects identified to bring into this workshop should fall into high value/high potential value streams to optimize the opportunities.

• A Project Selection Matrix will be developed to prioritize project opportunities.

  • An initial list of projects comprised of those that are brought into the workshop and those identified in the Value Stream exercise are added to the new Project Selection Matrix.  The Project Selection Criteria and Impact Ratings are then used to prioritize this list of projects.
